Mucosal HIV and Immunobiology Center

Research Focus

The research focus of the Mucosal HIV and Immunobiology Center is the cellular and molecular basis of the interaction between microbes and host mucosal cells. This focus is promoted through four scientific Cores and within each Core two Units. The three Cores and their Units are the following. (1) The Genetically-Defined Microbe Core is composed of the Viral Unit and the Bacterial Unit. (2) The Molecular Pathology and Imaging Core has a Molecular Pathology Unit and an Imaging Unit. (3) The Gnotobiotic and Genetically-Engineered Mouse Core is composed of a Gnotobiotic Unit and a Genetically-Engineered Mouse Unit.
